Do you believe in the power of women to build a brighter and more inclusive decentralized web?

YES, welcoming all women interested in learning more about the future of the web, whether they are developers, businesswomen, or just curious about the Web3 community. Women leading in Web3 is an initiative to connect with and support women building at the forefront of web3, whether they’re building educational curricula, advocacy efforts, or new applications built on web3 infrastructure. We need more women leading Web3 in all our communities and DAO, including women entrepreneurs who want to learn, prototype, and venture through a series of facilitated rabbit hole experiences. Women entrepreneurs offer accountability, tools, and support for creating a journey toward success.

Background

Itś estimated that twice as many men as women invest in cryptocurrency, highlighting a massive gender imbalance in crypto. Female employees are 22% of the tech industry’s workforce and hold only 11% of technical roles. Tech companies want to be more inclusive and understand that women leading are better at collaboration, inclusion, and empathy. Inclusiveness and diversity matter in Web 3.0, as they influence the development of blockchain technology. Technology empowers equal opportunity for all people, but without diverse development teams biased by gender, ethnicity, religion, or other categories, the next generation of technology will take on those biases and perpetuate them. Industries that comprise 85% of the workforce are white men. We know that inclusiveness matters in Web 3.0. We also understand that the only way to keep improving society through technology is by supporting diverse teams and helping them embrace their differences. When women speak up, technology is more transparent and inclusive, highlighting the fantastic work of strong women building a decentralized future, one block at a time. Women are the fastest-growing segment in Web3 and are poised to be some of its most influential leaders.

Solutions

Education, Empowerment, Hiring

*The first step is to make the tech and startup world more inclusive. We start by getting more women involved with Web3 and work to increase women’s voices in the blockchain space. We provide educational resources geared toward everyone not inherently masculine.

  1. Ab Lab Digital is closing the gap by hiring women of diversity in their Web3 space. The Ab Lab offers services for a growing web3 company. Ab Lab Digital provides the tools, mentorship, programming, web3 companies, and a global network to help accelerate growth.
  2. CryptoMondays is a decentralized global community that shares a passion for crypto, blockchain, and how to change the world in dramatic ways. CryptoMonday chapters are located all over the United States and the world. CryptoMondays NYC can be seen live on Instagram every Monday at 7:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to join or tune in to the live feed. Please follow us on IG and Twitter CryptoMondays NYC.
  3. Abby ¨Ab¨ Traxx, the Chief Executive Officer of The Ab Lab Digital and the lead organizer for CryptoMondays NYC, hosts a live show called ¨Pitch30¨ on Beem. XYZ at 8:30 pm every Monday. Women are encouraged to attend and speak openly about their community, projects, or anything to promote themselves. It is an opportunity for great exposure in this space.

*The second step is to build teams women want to join.

The Internet has created more opportunities for us to learn about each other. Yet women are still underrepresented in technology, business, and web development. Some of the most significant barriers still exist at a personal level: how we perceive others based on gender. When women are part of the tech community online, they build technology that changes lives worldwide, bringing more diversity into our global communications network.

*Step three is change starts with everyone.

Many of us have biases we don’t realize because our minds are in specific ways. The important thing is awareness of our preferences and how they might impact those around us, knowing how to shape behavior or attitude based on what you see daily. It’s practice.

With Women Leading Web3, they can share stories, news, and tips on how to get started with blockchain technology. The blockchain ecosystem has evolved significantly in the last three years, and we have the power to shape a collaborative, fair, and sustainable future. It takes a commitment to cultivating a lot free from biased and exclusionary systems by promoting diversity in web3. There are many more of you who, like us, see the power of this movement and are working hard to make it happen.

As Web3 continues to flourish, we must ask ourselves: How can we ensure that women get the chance to find professional, financial, or personal success in this growing sector? Every single one of us has a part to play in this growth, from educating to hiring and beyond.
